June 28-July 7
The theatre and dance department will present Blithe Spirit every day from June 28-July 3 and from July 5-7 at 8:15 p.m. at Craig Hall Plaza. When a séance goes horribly awry, a man is haunted by the ghost of his first wife — who dooms his second. Part horror, part farce, it’s a laugh-out-loud twist on the typical ghost story. The music department will present the Summer Carillon Series at 7 p.m. at Meyer Library. One of the world’s largest musical instruments, the Jane A. July 12-22
The theatre and dance department will present A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum every day from July 12-14, and from July 16-22, at 8:15 p.m. at Craig Hall Plaza. One of Broadway’s most famous farces, this reinvention of millennia-old Roman comedy follows a sly slave in the pursuit of freedom. A musical theatre classic, this show-stopper takes comedy to its roots and promises to put a smile on your face. July 18-July 22
The Center for Dispute Resolution will present Civil and Family Mediation Training from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at Plaster Student Union. Participants in this course receive personal feedback directly from coaches with a wide range of experience in a variety of types of civil and family mediation. C.J. Larkin, JD, from Washington University is the principal trainer for the sessions. The cost is $440-$900 and is open to the public. The Missouri State Fruit Experiment Station will present Arboretum Mapping Project: Introduction and Update at 2 p.m. at Faurot Hall, Room 102 on the Mountain Grove campus. The status of the project will be presented highlighting unique specimens of the 65 tree species represented in over 200 specimens. The event is free and it is open to the public.
