Industrial management department to demonstrate prototyping machine

SPRINGFIELD — The Missouri State University industrial management department will present a demonstration of its newly-acquired Fused Deposition Modeling prototyping machine from 10:30 a.m.-noon Oct. 28 in Kemper Hall, Room 107. 

“Inclusion of rapid prototyping exposes students to a method of manufacturing that is becoming increasingly important for small number components, increases their design and visualization skills, and incorporates tactile and kinetic learning as a design tool rather than relying on just three dimensional computer-aided design modeling,” said Dr. Rita Hawkins, assistant professor of industrial management.
