SPRINGFIELD -- Construction management students from Missouri State University placed second in the American Concrete Institute International (ACI) Concrete Construction Competition. Students Stephen Monsanto, Brian Ross and Mathew Bradford developed a solution to a cold-weather concrete construction problem typical for construction managers.

“This was only the second time that Missouri State entered an ACI competition, and placing in both competitions is an accomplishment unequaled by any school, to date, in the competition,” said adviser Steven McCrary, associate professor of industrial management.

A total of 38 teams submitted responses to ACI’s call for proposals; 29 teams submitted a solution to the problem. The entries were judged by concrete contractors and material suppliers from across North America.

“Concrete International” will recognize the Missouri State students in its January issue.
