Missouri State Tent Theatre calls for auditions

SPRINGFIELD — Auditions for Missouri State University’s Tent Theatre musicals will be held Feb. 10 in Ellis Recital Hall. Auditions for Tent Theatre’s play will be held Feb. 18 in Craig Hall’s Balcony Theatre.

Those auditioning for speaking roles should prepare a one-minute contemporary monologue. If auditioning for a singing role, prepare a one-minute contemporary monologue and 45 seconds of an up-tempo contemporary song. An accompanist will be provided. Those interested in auditioning are asked to call (417) 836-4644 to arrange an audition time. Those applying for a technical position may call (417) 836-5439 for an application. The deadline for technical applications is Feb. 16.

The Tent Theatre rehearsal period begins May 22 with the final performance on July 23. Company members will be awarded full-time or part-time contracts and must qualify for enrollment at Missouri State. Monetary award is based upon experience, time commitment and ability. All company members will receive a weekly stipend up to $250 and may be provided campus housing.
