Missouri State to honor 543 graduates in summer commencement

SPRINGFIELD — Missouri State University will confer 543 degrees to students this summer during a commencement ceremony at 1 p.m. Aug. 3 at Hammons Student Center.

A total of 376 baccalaureate degrees, 161 master’s degrees and six specialist degrees will be conferred. Beyond the standard expectations, nine students will be recognized for their work with a more rigorous curriculum in Missouri State’s Honors College. Scholastic honors will be given to eight students who will graduate summa cum laude (with a GPA of 3.9-4.0), eight who will graduate magna cum laude (with a GPA of 3.75-3.89) and 38 who will graduate cum laude (with a GPA of 3.5-3.74).

Including the summer graduates, Missouri State will have conferred a total of 106,202 degrees including: 966 associate degrees; 91,197 baccalaureate degrees since 1906; 13,210 master’s degrees since 1968; 818 specialist degrees since 1977; and 11 doctorate degrees since 2005.
