SPRINGFIELD — Missouri State University has announced the selection of 18 students to participate on the Missouri State University Advertising Team. Working as an agency, the Ad Team will represent Missouri State University in a nationwide integrated marketing communication campaign (IMC) for American Public Transportation Association (APTA).

The team will be working on a project called Green Means Go. The project is aimed at promoting the environmental benefits of public transportation.

Once the team has researched, created and tested their IMC plan, they will present to APTA. APTA personnel will come to the Missouri State campus for the original Ad Club presentation. APTA could then invite the Ad Team to present to APTA executives at their headquarters in Washington, D.C.

“We are honored to be one of 12 universities selected to compete in this nationwide campaign for the APTA,” said Dr. Melissa Burnett, Ad Team adviser. “It really speaks volumes about the marketing program here at Missouri State, and it says more about the students involved.”
