SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State University student Faith White won fifth place in the 2007 Bright and Beautiful Swarovski Design Contest, a national design contest sponsored by Swarovski Elements.

White, whose beaded clutch, “Amethyst Bling,” was selected as a finalist in the student category, is a senior fashion and interior design major from Springfield. The award ceremony was held Feb. 8 in Tucson, Ariz.

“Faith independently capitalized on skills she developed in couture embroidery, a variable topics course, offered through the fashion program and taught by guest designer Suzi Geiger,” said Sandra Bailey, assistant professor of fashion and interior design. “Faith’s creativity, hard work and perseverance have paid off in her award-winning design. We are very proud of Faith and her success in the Swarovski design competition.”
