SPRINGFIELD — Missouri State University will host the HighEdWeb annual conference at Plaster Student Union Oct. 5-8. More than 400 Web professionals are expected to attend this year’s event.
HighEdWeb is the official conference of the Higher Education Web Professionals Association, an organization of Web professionals working in higher education to design, develop, manage and map the futures of higher education Web sites. The association’s mission is: “To advance Web professionals, technologies and standards in higher education.”
Keynote speakers for this year’s conference include Jeffrey Veen, founding partner of Adaptive Path and project lead for Measure Map, a well-received Web analytics tool recently acquired by Google; and Kyle Ford, previously the associate product manager at Yahoo! Inc., now the director of product marketing at Ning, Inc.
“HighEdWeb is a conference for all those who want to explore the unique Web issues facing colleges and universities,” said Sara Clark, conference co-chair and director of Web and new media at Missouri State. “It’s also a wonderful opportunity to showcase our campus as well as the Springfield area.”
